Outer Space 🪐

22nd Oct 2024

As World Space Week ran from October 4th to October 10th we decided it would be a good time to look at the planets in our solar system. We listed all of the planets we could name and reminded ourselves that Pluto is now known as a dwarf planet and that the sun is technically a star.

We then came up with some mnemonics for remembering the order of the planets in the solar system. A mnemonic is a pattern of letters or ideas that helps you to remember something. This one was our favourite:

My - Mercury
Very - Venus
Elegant - Earth
Mother - Mars
Just - Jupiter
Served - Saturn
Us - Uranus
Noodles - Neptune

Take a look at the artwork we completed to practice putting the planets in the correct order! 🪐
