Our school was recently nominated for a sports award by Leitrim Sports Partnership under the School Sports Initiative Award. The initiative being recognised was our recently set up Walk and Talk Club. This club is a non competitive, inclusive initiative which allows children to enjoy nature, have a chat with their friends and get some steps in at the same time! Research has shown that children who participate in outdoor physical exercise experience improved wellbeing and mental health and we are therefore trying to provide opportunities for children to move more at breaktimes.
We would like to thank Leitrim Sports Partnership for the nomination and for their continued support in providing enjoyable sporting activities that are accessible to all our pupils.
Walk and Talk Club continues on the track every Thursday. It is open to all pupils from 3rd class up. Come and join us if you haven't tried it already! 🚶♂️➡️🌟🌳
