And that's a wrap! 🎬
The festivities started early in Scoil Mhuire Naofa this week, when our elves finally resolved their Christmas Quarrel!
The children of the school have spent the last number of weeks learning lines, songs, dance moves and about all the lovely things we associate with Christmas. Their hard work truly paid off when they saw the Cornmill theatre packed to the rafters for three performances! The pride on their faces was heartwarming as they beamed out at their families and friends in the audience.
The children worked tirelessly to ensure that they would do their very best, whatever their roles in the show were. Every child in the school played a part in putting the production together with roles ranging from acting, singing, dancing, playing music, helping with props and set design to providing beautiful artwork and photos as a backdrop for our opening acts.
Thank you to our wonderful staff who gave their time so generously. They ensured their classes were very well prepared and confident enough to take to the stage in front of large audiences. Special thanks to Ms Brennan and Ms McCartin for taking on the lion's share of the production with their classes. Ms Kelly and Ms Sweeney have been working with our musicians all year and it was a wonderful opportunity for those children to showcase their talent. Ms Reynolds prepared our Céilí dancers who set the tone for the show with their lively performance. Mrs Smith and Mr Ronan Fitzpatrick took on the daunting task of sound and lighting but it certainly didn't phase them and their expertise really gave a professional finish to the show.
Thank you to Philip McIntyre and the Cornmill theatre for allowing us to perform there and for all Philip's guidance on bookings, sound and lighting. We are very grateful.
Thanks to Mr Declan Conboy and the staff of CVS for being so accommodating with timetabling of the hall and theatre. Their cooperation and flexibility made rehearsals in the theatre possible.
To the Parents' Association for their support with promoting the show and working on the door before each performance. They are a very important part of our school community and we appreciate their continued support.
To our parents and guardians who came to the show and brought their children out late in the evening to perform. Thank you for making it the success that it was.
Finally to the stars of the show, from our Early Intervention room right up to 6th class. Thank you for being such a joy to work with. You did yourselves proud and we hope that you will have lots of lovely memories to last a lifetime from the show!
Merry Christmas everyone! 🎅
